Algeria celebrated the National Day – Revolution Day


On November 1, 2017, the Algerian Embassy hosted a solemn reception at the Wyndham Tashkent Hotel on the occasion of the National Day – Revolution Day. Reception was visited by Ekaterina Adeeva – Head of legal practice at BAKER TILLY UZBEKISTAN.

The national holiday is celebrated annually on November 1. It was established in memory of the beginning of the war for the independence of Algeria (also known as the Algerian War) in 1954.

Opening the gala evening, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria in Uzbekistan, Nasser Buscherit said: “The victory of the Algerian revolution, in the internal plan, left its imprint on the construction of a modern state built on the principles of justice and freedom, and internationally this revolution made a great contribution to accelerating liberation not only of many countries of the continent of Africa, but also of many other states from all over the world”.

The Ambassador also described the friendly relations between Algeria and Uzbekistan: “I am pleased to recall that Algeria was one of the first countries to recognize Uzbekistan as an independent state and immediately opened the Embassy in Tashkent, which serves as proof of its desire to establish friendly and multilateral relations with Uzbekistan on the basis of mutual respect and common interests for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples.
We celebrated on June 30 this year the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Uzbekistan. These relations have reached significant heights in a number of areas and are expected to develop in new industries in the interests of both countries”.

His Excellency President of the Republic Abdel Aziz Buteflick noted that Algeria “is ready to strengthen relations with Uzbekistan in all areas” and expressed his conviction that the two countries can build, on the basis of 25 years of friendly relations between our two peoples, a bilateral partnership in those areas, which meet common interests”.

Representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Uzbekistan, the cultural community, business and the media attended the solemn evening on the occasion of the Day of Revolution. The Government of Uzbekistan was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gayrat Fazilov.

The reception was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
